Personal life
George Lopez was born in Pacoima, California.[interview with Larry King] In 1971, when he was 10 years old, Lopez was abandoned by his mother. He was subsequently raised by his maternal grandmother, Benita, a factory worker, who became his sole guardian, as well as his maternal step-grandfather Refugio Gutierrez, a builder.

George Lopez, a Mexican-American stand up comedian, is one of the finest comedic talents of the entertainment world. Born on April 23, 1963, he spent early years of his life in the San Fernando Valley near Los Angeles, California.
Over the years George Lopez has proved himself as premier comedian. He tried himself in the various spheres of entertainment and worked as a writer, producer, commentator and a co-creator. He earned success in these entire fields in his own right. George Lopez primarily is known to be a comedian and his humor is largely based on financial poverty, Latino community and culture of United States.
So far, Lopez has released his stand-up comedy shows in four albums. His first album was released in 1996 and was called Alien Nation. Lopez’s best selling album remains “Right Now Right Now” which was released in 2001 and went for Grammy Award nominations for the Best Comedy Album. 2004, George Lopez released his autobiography “Why You Crying?”
Lopez latest album was El Mas Chingon which was released in September 2006.
